Alternative Treatments for Shoulder Pain in Sarasota

Natural, non-surgical care for rotator cuff, labrum and shoulder joint problems.

The shoulder moves more than any other joint in your body, which makes it easy to injure and slow to heal. Rotator cuff tears, labrum injuries, tendon problems and arthritis can keep you from sleeping, working and lifting your arm.

At All-Natural Healing, Dr. House uses Prolopuncture, a protocol he created that places dextrose-based injections at acupuncture points to stimulate the shoulder to build new fibrous tissue. It is his answer for patients who want to avoid surgery.

Shoulder Problems We See

  • Rotator cuff tears and tendinopathy
  • Labrum injuries
  • Bursitis and impingement
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Shoulder osteoarthritis
  • Instability after injury

What Treatment Looks Like

  • A typical Prolopuncture course is 10 to 12 treatments every 2 to 3 days
  • Limited activity, around 25% of normal, during the course
  • Ice for the first 24 hours, then heat. Heat is your friend, cold is your enemy.
  • Avoiding aspirin, Advil and Aleve, with a lidocaine cream for soreness
  • A 6-month Rehab Assignment afterward

Is It Right for You?

Some full-thickness tears can be treated without surgery, depending on the case. Dr. House will look at your MRI with you and tell you honestly if you are a candidate. Results vary and are not guaranteed.

Common Questions

Can a torn rotator cuff heal without surgery?

Some patients do well with Prolopuncture, including some with larger tears. Dr. House reviews your MRI to see if you are a good candidate.

Do you do MRIs?

Dr. House writes the MRI script, and we work with a partner imaging center. He reviews the results with you personally.
